Angelina Kim Returns To Long Beach State Women’s Golf As Assistant Coach

Kim played for four seasons at the Beach and returns to her alma mater.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf Head Coach Alyssa Waite has announced that Angelina Kim will be returning to the program as an Assistant Coach, effective immediately for the 2026-27 season.
"I'm really excited to welcome Angelina back to Long Beach State," said Waite. "Having coached her for three years, I know that she understands our culture, our program and what it means to represent the Beach. Her experience competing professionally also gives her a perspective that will be incredibly valuable to our players. I'm excited for this next chapter for Angelina and for what she'll bring to our program as a coach."
A regular in the lineup throughout four seasons with Long Beach State, Kim was a two-time All-Big West selection and as a senior helped lead the Beach to the 2024 Big West Championship as the program made its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance.
She was the individual champion of the 2023 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii, and as an outstanding student, earning CSC Academic All-District honors as a senior as well as multiple Academic All-Big West and WGCA All-American Scholar selections.
Playing professionally following her time at the Beach, Kim won her first tournament, the 2024 Women's California State Open as the only golfer under par. After graduating from Long Beach State with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing, Kim has remained in the golf world outside of her playing career, serving as a P.J. Boatwright Intern with the USGA/SCGA and assisting with Event Operations and Fundraising with BackSwing Golf Events.
"I'm excited to be back at the Beach and to give back to a program and university that gave me such a great experience as a student-athlete," said Kim. "I hope to provide our student-athletes with the same support and positive experience that I was fortunate to have. I want to help them grow both on and off the course and prepare them for whatever they choose to pursue beyond college. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to Long Beach and can't wait to get started."
