Women’s Golf Finishes First Day Of Final Fall Tournament From Kansas

The Jayhawks lead the 13-team event as the Beach is in eighth after two rounds.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Juniors Jasmine and Janae Leovao lead Long Beach State women's golf after two rounds at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational from Kansas, the final tournament of the fall schedule for LBSU.

                Jasmine Leovao fired an even par 72 in the first round of the day, and sits 21st overall after two rounds of action after a second round 75, three-over par on the day. Janae Leovao was two strokes behind, recording Long Beach State's low score of 74 in the second round after a first round 75.

                Sophomore Erin Lee was third on the team. One of six players to record an eagle at the Lawrence Country Club on Monday, Lee had two straight rounds of 76 to finish the day +8. One stroke back was Madison Le, who also had a second round 76 after a first round 77. Sophomore Andee Avery had back-to-back rounds of 79 on Monday.

                As a team, Long Beach State sits in eighth place overall, while the hosts, Kansas have the team lead behind two Jayhawks placing first and second individually after two rounds.
