Women’s Golf Concludes Fall Schedule At Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

Long Beach State will travel to Kansas to participate for the first time in Lawrence.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf will play their fourth and final fall tournament starting on Monday, October 7 as the team takes part in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational, hosted by Kansas at the Lawrence Country Club.
The tournament will take place over two days with the first two rounds on Monday followed by a final round on Tuesday.
Junior Jasmine Leovao will lead off the lineup for Long Beach State. Leovao was the top finisher in two of the team's three earlier fall tournaments, including the last time out for Long Beach State at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic where she finished in the Top 10 at 4-under par.
Janae Leovao led Long Beach State with a third place finish at the Leadership and Golf Invitational in Washington, and was second for the Beach at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic. She'll play second, while sophomore Andee Avery will play third for the Beach after placing third on the team in each of the last two tournaments.
Madison Le will play fourth after competing in all three tournaments in the fall, while sophomore Erin Lee will play fifth, returning to the lineup after skipping the Ptarmigan Ram Classic. Lee placed fourth on the team at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course in her last action.
The field will feature a mix of new and returning opponents, as the Beach will face off against the hosts, Kansas, as well as Kent State, Missouri, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Eastern Michigan, Northern Colorado, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Delaware, and Central Arkansas.
