Peppi Ramstedt Named Big West Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week

Ramstedt earns the honors for the first time in her collegiate career
IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced the Tennis Player of the Week awards on Wednesday afternoon and Long Beach State's Peppi Ramstedt picked up the honors for the first time in her career.
Ramstedt was named Big West Player of the Week after a solid week in which she captured three doubles victories and a pair of singles wins at LBSU's Beach Tennis Winter Invite.
The junior partnered with senior Rhona Cook and the duo picked up a convincing 6-2 win against Nevada's Amahee Charrier and Anastasia Luneva to win the Doubles Title. Prior to the pair's championship win, they also earned a 6-2 win over Pacific and a 6-2 triumph over Big West opponent, CSUN.
In singles action, Ramstedt downed Nevada's Lou Anne Guerbert 6-1, 6-1, before taking down Pacific's Alexis Sam, 7-5, 6-0.
The product out of Helsinki, Finland will lead Long Beach State into the dual season this Friday, January 26 against Fresno Pacific. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at Rhodes Tennis Center. The match will be available on BeachLiveStats.com.
