Lavershina Broke A 36-Year Old School Record At Air Force
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State junior Sofia Lavreshina was named MPSF Female Athlete of the Week on Jan. 23.
Lavershina broke the 36-year-old school record in the 400m during prelims at the Air Force Lindeman Invite on Jan. 19. She ran a 54.71 aa to reset Kerri Zaleski's 1988 mark. Lavreshina then ran 54.88 in the finals to win the event. That time is currently ranked 44th in Division I. She also helped her 4x440 relay team to a win (3:57.60).
Long Beach State returns to action Feb. 8-9 at the University of New Mexico's Don Kirby Invitational. FloTrack will stream the meet for a fee with all links available on LongBeachState.com.
