Women’s Water Polo Well Represented At 2023 World Championships

Long Beach State will have four players affiliated with the program competing at the highest international level.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Water Polo has earned great representation at the upcoming World Championships held in Fukuoka, Japan from July 14-30.
Assistant Coach Rachel Fattal will once again compete with the USA Women's National Team who are favored to win the championship. Fattal first competed at the World Championships in 2013 and has since gone on to win a pair of Olympic Gold Medals with Team USA. Her inclusion is an important step in the run-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics next summer.
Three alumni have also been selected to compete for their countries at the event. Marilia Mimides will return to the Canada squad, 2022 All-American Orsi Hertzka will represent France for the first time at this level, and Isabel Riley will compete for Argentina for the second straight time at this event.
