Second Round Complete As Jasmine Leovao Competes In NCAA Regionals

The true freshman had two birdies on Tuesday in the second round.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Battling through a weather-delay and difficult conditions at TBC San Antonio, Jasmine Leovao rallied with two birdies in the back nine in the second of three rounds at the NCAA San Antonio Regional on Tuesday.
Course conditions on Tuesday necessitated an early morning delay of nearly an hour, as Jasmine Leovao competed in the second of three rounds as part of the NCAA San Antonio Regional. Falling behind with a triple bogey as part of a tough first nine, Leovao battled back with birdies on holes two and five in her second nine holes and ended the day with a score of 80. Tied for 54th overall, Leovao moved up a spot on the day and was one-over in her second nine holes on the day.
Leovao is the fourth separate golfer to compete as an individual for Long Beach State, and the first freshman since LBSU Hall of Famer Kay Hoey in 2005. Hoey was a two-time indy selection, as was Kassidy Teare, while Holland Shourds competed for the Beach in 2021 after also winning the Big West individual championship.
The final round of the NCAA San Antonio Regional will be held on Wednesday, May 10. Leovao is scheduled to tee off at 8:55 a.m. CT/6:55 a.m. PT, with live scoring provided by Golfstat at https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=teamPlayer&tid=28075.
