Jasmine Leovao is the fourth individual to compete for Long Beach State women’s golf in the NCAA postseason.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – True freshman Jasmine Leovao completed the first round of three at the NCAA San Antonio Regional on Monday, one of six individuals competing at the site.

Leovao got off to a solid start on Monday, birding 14 and finishing her first nine holes at one-over par. A triple bogey on the first hole set up a difficult front nine at TPC San Antonio for the freshman, who ultimately finished the day with an 81, placing in a four-way tie for 55th in the 66-golfer field at the NCAA Regional.

Leovao punched her ticket to the NCAA postseason with an outstanding tournament at the Big West Championship. Starting the tournament with a LBSU record round at the championship with a 6-under 66, Leovao led wire-to-wire, winning individual medalist by three strokes. She was the top finisher for Long Beach State in each of the team's final four tournaments, and comes into the postseason in a tremendous run of form.

Jasmine becomes the fourth separate golfer to compete as an individual for Long Beach State, and the first freshman since LBSU Hall of Famer Kay Hoey in 2005. Hoey was a two-time indy selection, as was Kassidy Teare, while Holland Shourds competed for the Beach in 2021 after also winning the Big West individual championship.

The second round will be played tomorrow, with Jasmine scheduled to tee off at 8:55 CT/6:55 PT. Live coverage can be found at https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=teamPlayer&tid=28075.
