The Beach will face an interesting field in the team’s final tournament before the Big West Championship.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will travel north to play in one final spring tournament before taking on the Big West at the Big West Championship, taking part in the Silicon Valley Showcase starting on Monday, April 10.

                The tournament, hosted by Santa Clara, will feature 10 teams, all from the West including the No. 1 team in the country, Stanford. Fellow Big West member UC Irvine will also be in the tournament with Gonzaga, Nevada, San Francisco, Seattle, Pepperdine and Wyoming rounding out the field.

                Held at the Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, Calif., the Beach will be looking to maintain their strong and consistent play, which has seen the team finish in the Top 4 in every tournament the team has played since the start of October.

                Freshman Jasmine Leovao will lead off the lineup for Long Beach State. Jasmine is on a great run of late, having been the top scorer for the Beach in each of the last two tournaments, including a Top 5 finish at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic last week in a 108-golfer field.

                Hannah Ko has been in the top two finishers for Long Beach State in seven of eight tournament this season, and will take the second spot in the lineup after finishing in a tie for 11th in the team's last outing at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.

                Junior Angelina Kim will play third for the Beach, while Janae Leovao will play fourth, matching the order of finish from the team's time in Maricopa.

                Freshman Madison Le will also get an opportunity, returning to the lineup this week. Le last played as an individual at the Fresno State Classic, where she finished in the top half of the field in a tie for 38th place overall.
