Beach Volleyball to Host Midweek Tri-Dual at Rosie’s Dog Beach

Long Beach State will play Colorado Mesa and Boise State on Tuesday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – With more rainstorms in the forecast, the tri-dual has changed venues from the LBSU Sand Courts, Long Beach State will now host Colorado Mesa and Boise State in a tri-dual Rosie's Dog Beach. The No. 13 ranked Beach enter the week on a five-match win streak.
Tuesday, March 21 (at Rosie's Dog Beach)

1:00 p.m. vs. Boise State
ABOUT THE BEACH
-- The Beach (8-8) enters their midweek tri-dual on a five-match win streak after sweeping their first weekend at home this past weekend. They swept Texas, 5-0, topped Utah, 4-1, and took down No. 16 Stetson twice by the score of 3-2.
-- Long Beach State will be featured in the AVCA weekly rankings for the 92nd consecutive week since the rankings began in 2013. For now, they are still the No. 13 team in the nation with the new poll coming out tomorrow.
-- Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah continued their dominant freshmen campaigns with four more victories to move to 12-4 overall on the season. They dropped just a single set over the weekend. Similarly, Natalie Glenn and Maggie Walters were undefeated over the weekend paying in both duals with No. 16 Stetson. They are now 10-3 on the season.
TUESDAY PREVIEW
-- No. 13 Long Beach State will host their first tri-dual in Long Beach on Tuesday, as they take on Colorado Mesa and Boise State.
-- Colorado Mesa, a Division II program, is 6-3 on the season and have won five straight duals. One of their wins did come against a DI program, taking down UTEP on opening day of the season.
-- Boise State begins the week with a 13-4 overall record and winners of five straight as well. They are currently receiving votes in the AVCA poll. Last weekend, they won all four duals taking down CSU Bakersfield, Oregon, San Francisco, and San Jose State.
HISTORY WITH THE OPPONENTS
-- Long Beach State and Colorado Mesa have met four times in program history, all coming as 5-0 victories for the Beach.
-- The Beach and Broncos have played just once with Boise State coming to Long Beach last season. The Beach won that matchup, 4-1.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE DUALS
-- As rains have continued to fall in Southern California this year, the LBSU Sand Courts are not currently in playing condition. That has caused the tri-dual to be moved to Rosie's Dog Beach with start times of 10:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., and 1:00 p.m.
-- Admission will be free and fans can bring their own food and drink. Concessions will not be available and spectators must pay for parking.
