The LBSU indoor season was one for the record books with four new school records, 47 new program top ten marks, and ended with the MPSF Women's Athlete of the Meet and seven MPSF individual champions as part of the best conference championships team performance in program history.

Hailey Fune was named the MPSF Women's Athlete of the Meet after winning the Pentathlon title, taking home the bronze in the 60m Hurdles, and finishing fourth as part of a top five sweep in Long Jump. She along with Kaitlyn Williams, Sebastian Coleman, Kyle Jankans, Elijah Harris, and Kash Powell were all individual title winners at the conference championships on February 17-18. The Beach finished runner-up for both the men's and women's teams totaling the highest scores in program history.

With the indoor season officially done, it's time for outdoor season as the Long Beach State women look to defend their Big West crown from a year ago and the men's team look to climb back into the top spot for the ninth time in program history.

Ryley Fick is also looking to defend some individual hardware after earning LBSU's first ever Big West Track Athlete of the Year honor last season. She currently owns four all-time top five marks, including the school record in the 3000m Steeplechase.

Along with Fick, this season's roster features five more of last year's NCAA Regional Qualifiers in Rahni Turner, Sebastian Coleman, Michael Phillips, Mohammed Mohamed, and Joseph Anderson.

This year's Beach Opener features mainly California-based teams, including Pepperdine and Big West foes UC Irvine, Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and CSU Bakersfield. The meet will also feature Division II and community college athletes as well as elite club and open athletes in the professional ranks.

Friday will just be throws events beginning at 11 a.m. with most of the action taking place on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

Tickets are available for $10 general admission with youth and senior tickets at $8. To purchase, click HERE or call/text the ticket office at (562)985-4949.
