Hill becomes the fourth individual from Long Beach State to compete in the Winter Olympics.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Former Long Beach State sprinter Azaria Hill continues to compete at an elite level but in a new sport, as she will represent Team USA in the Bobsled in the upcoming Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
Hill is competing with Kaysha Love for Team USA in the two-woman bobsleigh following her Division I collegiate career that saw her compete with both Long Beach State and UNLV.
During her time at the Beach, Hill was part of the program's record-setting 4x100m relay team with Courtne' Davis, Ashleigh Chambers and Madison Golden that set a program record of 44.59 in the event in 2018 and went on to advance to the NCAA Championships in the event. Returning to the NCAA Regionals the next year in the same event, Hill also was an All-Big West performer in the 100m dash, finishing in third place as a junior.
After the COVID 2020 season, Hill transferred to UNLV where she competed for one season while meeting her Olympics partner on the UNLV track team.
The opening ceremonies will be held on February 6, while Hill's official competition will begin on February 20 in the opening heats of the two-woman bobsleigh. American coverage of the entire Olympics can be found at https://www.nbcolympics.com/.
