Long Beach State Places Third at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

Freshman Jack Cantlay leads the Beach with a third-place showing with a 9-under par performance

Henderson, Nev. – Long Beach State finished the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in third place, finishing 10-under par in the tournament. Freshman Jack Cantlay led the Beach with a 9-under par to place in a tie for third.
The Beach finished with five golfers in the top 20, including Steven Deutsch who was competing as an individual and placed in a tie for seventh with a 4-under par.
Cantlay finished tournament play on a high note, firing a 65 in the final round for 7-under. He ended up with seven birdies including back-to-back on holes 17 and 18 to close out the final round en route to placing in a tie for third with a 9-under par overall.
Steven Deutsch shot a 69 on the final day for 3-under par to finish in a tie for seventh with a 4-under par for the tournament.
Ian Gilligan finished the tournament tied for 13th with a 2-under par after shooting 70-74-70 for a 214. On the final day of action, he had four birdies.
Isaac Rodea was able to keep his place in the top 20 closing the tournament even with par to place in a tie for 18th place. Rodea had three birdies in four holes on holes 13,15, and 16 in the final round.
Jaden Huggins finished the final round with an even 72 putting him in a tie for 20th place with a 1-over par in the tournament.
Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa rounded out the Beach golfers with a 78 in the final round as he had two birdies on holes six and 12 to finish 18-over par over three rounds.
Long Beach State will be back in action at the Bandon Dunes Invitational from Sunday, March 12 to Tuesday March 14 in Bandon, Ore.Â
