Sophomore Emil Albers recorded his first Top 20 finish at Long Beach State.

SEASIDE, Calif. – Sophomore Emil Albers had his third round of par or better to lead Long Beach State at the Saint Mary's Invitational, tying for 15th place overall for his first Top 20 finish at the Beach.

Final Results

Albers finished off his final round on the Bayonet Course with a one-under par 71, picking up one additional stroke and finishing the tournament at -4 following an even par Tuesday and a 69 on Monday. Senior Jaden Huggins was tied for 30th overall for the second-best tournament finish for the Beach, while Bruce MacDonald had the second-best round Wednesday in the lineup with a one-over par 73.

Another freshman, Andrew Rodriguez, had the team's low number Wednesday with a 70, the best round in his first collegiate tournament with four birdies just two bogeys in the round. Junior Norwin Gohm used an eagle on hole five to pick up the other scoring round of the day for Long Beach State with a 74.

With the team's tie for 13th place, Men's Golf finishes their fall schedule, and will be off for the winter break until the team returns to action on February with the John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
