
Long Beach State in Third Place Heading into the Final Round at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

Freshman Jack Cantlay leads the Beach as he is in the Top 10 shooting 2-under par after two rounds of action
Henderson, Nev. – After two rounds of action, Long Beach State drops two spots in the leaderboard as the Beach sit in third place at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate. LBSU trails first-place Little Rock by only three strokes as the Beach are 2-under par heading into the final round.
The Beach still has four golfers in the top 25 as they are led by freshman Jack Cantlay who shot a 74 in the second round. He had six birdies today to help keep LBSU in the top three overall. Cantlay is tied for eighth overall with a 2-under par 142.
Isaac Rodea is only one stroke behind Cantlay, with a 143 for 1-under par. With one birdie today, Rodea is tied for 10 th with teammate Steven Deutsch who is competing as an individual in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate. Deutsch is one stroke under par through two days after birdying four holes in a row.
Ian Gilligan is tied for 19th is one stroke behind Rodea and Deutsch. Gilligan scored four birdies on the day including back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 to shoot a 74 in the second round, bringing his two round total to an even 144.
Jaden Huggins had four birdies as well in the second round, with his back-to-back birdies coming on holes eight and nine. Huggins is one stroke behind Gilligan with 145 strokes for 1-over par.
Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa improved on his performance from yesterday by four strokes as he finished with two birdies to finish the second round 12-over par.
Long Beach State is looking to move back to the top of the leaderboard on the final day of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate Saturday, March 1. Beach fans can follow along at Golfstat.com.
