Long Beach State Tied For Second At Conclusion Of Shortened Day One Of The Beach Invitational

Round Two was suspended due to darkness and course conditions.
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Long Beach State rallied with a strong start to round two as play was halted in the midst of the second round. Freshman Jasmine Leovao shared the individual lead through the conclusion of 28 holes with Andrea Bergsdottir of Colorado State.
Long Beach State was seven-over par in the second round, the best score through the partially competed round other than tournament leaders Colorado State at five-over par. The Beach finished the opening round with a score of 310, sixth place after the first round.
Jasmine Leovao finished the opening round with a score of 73, one-over par to pace Long Beach State in the opening round. Angelina Kim was one-over par through 11 holes in the second round to also place in the Top 10 in the 87-competitor field.
Hannah Ko had the team's second-best score in the opening round with a five-over par 77, and placed in a tie for 21st at the conclusion of play on Monday, while Janae Leovao bounced back from a tough first round with a one-over par performance through 11 holes in round two, while Madison Le was three-over through 10 after having her score dropped in the first round.
Three individuals were competing for Long Beach State as well at The Beach Invitational. Vanessa Richani and Kristina Ponomareva both recorded rounds of 82 while Isabella Ranches shot an 87 as the teams worked through damp conditions on the first of two days in Mission Viejo.
The second round will continue on Tuesday, February 28 at 8 a.m., continuing straight in the third and final round at Mission Viejo Country Club. Fans wishing to view the action are welcomed to attend, but golf carts will not be available.
