
Jankans Set for Men’s High Jump at BYU Invitational

This weekend marks the final chance for the sophomore to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State track and field will be sending just one member of the team to the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah this weekend. The two-day meet begins today and ends Saturday.
Men's High Jumper Kyle Jankans will be the only member of the Beach track and field team to participate. Jankans is currently ranked 17th in the country for High Jump as he looks to bolster his mark and qualify for the NCAA Championships next month.
The sophomore has competed in three meets this year with two first-place finishes in High Jump. Most recently, he claimed the High Jump title at the MPSF Indoor Championships last weekend, clearing the bar at 7' 1.25". His other win was at the first meet of indoor season, the Air Force Lindeman Invitational clearing the bar at 7' 0.25".
The men's high jump begins at 12 p.m. tomorrow at the Smith Fieldhouse at BYU.
