Kyle Jankans just missed out on qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the finale of LBSU indoor.
PROVO, Utah – Long Beach State Track and Field had just one student-athlete in competition this weekend as Kyle Jankans went to the BYU Invitational for the men's High Jump.
The sophomore transfer would clear the bar his first two heights with ease. With the bar progressing up to 2.16m (7' 1"), he would clear it on his second attempt to claim the top spot of the podium and earn his third victory of the indoor season.
Looking to bolster his season-best mark and move into the NCAA Top 16, he took three attempts with the bar at 2.21m (7' 3"). Unfortunately, he would barely clip the bar each time unable to improve on his lifetime-best and improve his national ranking.
That marks the official end of the indoor season with Jankans just barely missing out on qualifying for the NCAA Championships. He ends the season with the 17th best mark in the nation.
