The Beach have received commitments from a junior college big man and a high school point guard in the November signing period.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Dan Monson and the Long Beach State Men's Basketball Coaching Staff have announced the commitments of two impact players who will join the program starting with the 2024-25 season in Kamren Martin and Vianney Salatchoum.

KAMREN MARTIN
Guard, 6-4, 175, Montgomery County, Md. (Blue Ridge School)

Kamren Martin is a guard from Maryland who attends boarding school at Blue Ridge School in Charlotttesville, Va. He played as a freshman and sophomore at Paint Branch HS in Maryland, where he averaged 21.9 points per game before transferring schools to face an elevated level of competition under the leadership of Cade Lemecke at the Blue Ridge School.

Last season as a junior he averaged 12.1 points with over three rebounds and assists per game with a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio. A two-sport athlete, Martin also stars as a wide receiver in football. He is an astute playmaker who has the ability to score from all three levels.

Monson on Martin:
"Kam is a big point guard who can play both guard positions and is an extremely versatile defender. He has a feel for the game you can't teach. We love his competitiveness, his winning attitude, and his ability to make plays for himself and others. Kam is a high character person who will compete for playing time as a freshman. He is a great addition to the Beach Family."

VIANNEY SALATCHOUM
Forward, 6-11, 230, Yaounde, Cameroon (Panola CC)

We welcome the addition of another West African big man, Vianney Salatchoum, a 6-11 forward from Cameroon. He is currently playing in his second season with junior college powerhouse Panola College.

Salatchoum helped the Ponies post a 28-5 overall record and established himself as a major shot blocking force. He finished the year with 56 blocks, nearly three per game as a true freshman. He appears poised for a breakout year as a sophomore where he's currently averaging 11.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game.

Monson on Salatchoum
"We are really excited about the upside of Vianney. He has only been playing basketball for a few years, and his improvement has been impressive. With his size, length, and athleticism Vianney will impact our program on the defensive side immediately, and his offensive game is improving by the day. We are excited that he has trusted us to be the program to help develop him to his full potential."
