Fick Posts Second Fastest Women’s 5,000m Time at UW Invitational

SEATTLE, Wash. – Ryley Fick was the lone competitor for the Beach on day one of the UW Invitational in Seattle. She posted a lifetime-best of 16:35.85 in the women's 5,000m for a third-place finish.
The time ranks as the second fastest 5k time in program history and just 12 seconds shy of the all-time mark set back in 2013. It is also just the second sub-17 minute time in Long Beach State history. Her time was just two seconds behind the second-place finisher.
Fick will compete again tomorrow in the women's mile at 12:30 p.m. She is joined by Alex Kalmar and Anitha Graves who will compete in the men's mile and women's 800m, respectively.
