Fick Sets School Record on Day Two of UW Invitational

Senior Ryley Fick now owns the all-time LBSU record for the women’s indoor mile.
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Long Beach State distance duo of Ryley Fick and Anitha Graves wrapped up the short weekend at the UW Invitational on Saturday. Both had outstanding performances headlined by Fick setting a new school record in the women's mile.
The senior posted a time of 4:46.32 in the race surpassing Rosa Del Toro's 2013 mark by over four full seconds. Her record comes on the heels of running the second-fastest 5,000m time less than 24 hours before. For the event, she finished 13th overall.
Graves also posted a lifetime best of her own in the women's 800m with a time of 2:11.97. It goes down in the record books as the fourth fastest mark in program history and fastest since the 2014 season. For the event, she won her heat and finished 17th overall.
In three events, the duo posted top five marks in all three for their weekend in Seattle.
Long Beach State will continue their indoor schedule next weekend at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Feb. 3-4.
