Long Beach State Track and Field Opens Indoor Season at Air Force

The Beach opens their 2023 schedule at the Ralph Lindeman Invitational this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State track and field team is set to begin their 2023 season at the Air Force Academy as they compete in the Ralph Lindeman Invitational. The two-day meet will feature action all day on both Friday and Saturday.

Along with the host Falcons, Long Beach will compete against student-athletes from BYU, Cal Poly, Colorado, Sacramento State, and Wichita State.
On Friday, the field events start at 12 pm with the Women's Weight Throw while the Women's 60m Hurdles starts the action on the track at 1 pm. Saturday's events begin at 11 am with Women's Shot Put for the field and the Women's Mile is the first track event at 12 pm.
Among those competing for the Beach on the women's team will be Hailey Danskin, Hailey Fune, Maggie Lear, Malia Talavou, Rahni Turner, and Kaitlyn Williams. All six own lifetime-best marks that rank in the Long Beach State record books. Turner appears on the list twice, ranking third in the 60m Hurdles and ninth as part of the 4x400m Relay. Talavou also owns two top ten marks, sitting at second all-time in indoor Shot Put and sixth in the 20-pound Weight Throw.
For the men's side, Sebastian Coleman and Elijah Harris headline the group with marks in the program record books. Coleman ranks tenth in the 35-pound Weight Throw while Harris is tenth in the 60m Dash.
In total there will be 18 student-athletes on both the men's and women's teams with 12 competing in their first meet as members of the Beach.
Spectators will be allowed for the entire weekend with free admission. The schedule of all the events can be found HERE.
