Long Beach State Picked to Finish Third in the Big West

The Beach received 39 points in survey of head coaches.

LONG BEACH, Calif. --Long Beach State has been picked to finish third in the Big West in the 2022 season as the league announced its Preseason Coaches' Poll Friday morning.
 
The Beach picked up one first place vote and finished with 39 points. Hawai'i is projected to win the Big West with UC Irvine finishing in second. 
 
Transfer Lara Luka was also named to the Big West Preseason Coaches' Team. The junior from Belgrade, Serbia was an Honorable Mention All-America selection last season with Hawai'i. She posted a tally of 37 goals and 17 assists in her sophomore campaign. 
 
The Beach kicks off the 2023 season on January 21 with the Beach Invite at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center, starting with Claremont at 10:30 a.m.
