LBSU Beach Volleyball Announces 2023 Schedule

The 2023 spring campaign consists of 35 matches, 12 of which will come at the LBSU Sand Courts.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State Beach Volleyball team has announced their 2023 schedule for the upcoming spring season. The slate consists of 12 home matches at the LBSU Sand Courts with the remaining 23 being elsewhere in California. The news was announced on Tuesday by head coach Mike Campbell.
The season opener will be on February 24 with a tri-dual at USC against the defending NCAA Champions as well as Grand Canyon University. The following day, the Beach heads to Malibu for a tri-dual with Pepperdine and Cal.
The first home matches of the season will be on March 17 with Long Beach State hosting Texas and Stetson along with Utah and Stetson the following day. Overall, there will be nine matches at the LBSU Sand Courts that weekend with Texas, Stetson, Utah, and Stetson all coming into town.
The Big West Challenge will be on March 25-26 hosted by Cal Poly this year as all seven conference institutions make the trip to San Luis Obispo for six matches in two days.
The next big home weekend comes on March 30-31 as the Beach hosts Stanford, Florida International, and Vanguard for a pair of tri-duals on Thursday and Friday.
Senior day this season will come on April 6 as part of a tri-dual with Pepperdine and Cal State LA. The action begins at 10 a.m. with the senior ceremony coming before the Cal State LA matchup at 2:30 p.m.
In total, Long Beach State will play 21 matches against teams that ranked in the AVCA's final rankings last year. Further, 11 of those 21 come against top 10 programs.
This year's Big West Championships will be hosted in Hawai'i from April 21-23 with the NCAA Championships happening May 4-6 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
All home matches are free admission at the LBSU Sand Courts and food and drink is permitted at the venue.
