Women’s Golf Continues Fall Play At Ptarmigan Ram Classic

A refreshed lineup will see two new players make their 2022-23 debuts.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State is back in action for the middle of three tournaments in three weeks as women's golf takes on a field of 11 teams in Fort Collins, Colo. starting on September 26.
The Ptarmigan Ram Classic has been a regular part of the fall schedule for Long Beach State, as LBSU returns for the 21st time. This year's tournament will be held at the Ptarmigan Golf Course in Fort Collins and will again be hosted by Colorado State.
In addition to the hosts as Long Beach State, nine other teams will make out the field as Boise State, Bowling Green, Cal Poly, CSUN, Grand Canyon, Nevada, UC Irvine, Utah Valley and Wyoming will also be competing over three rounds. The teams will play two rounds on September 26 before returning for the final round on Tuesday, September 27.
Long Beach State's lineup will feature a few new faces. Junior Angelina Kim will make her season debut in the fourth spot. Last season, Kim was the top finisher at The Clash at Boulder Creek for LBSU, and routinely was near the top of the Beach finishes, including at the Big West championship where she finished in the Top 15.
Leaning into the team's veterans, Hannah Ko will take the second spot after a solid first weekend that included a two-under par second round at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate. Freshman Madison Le returns in the third spot after a third-place finish in the team order in Idaho.
Janae Leovao was the top finisher last weekend for LBSU, and will compete in the top spot after finishing three rounds one-over par, including a final round 68 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. Also making her season debut is sophomore Kristina Ponomareva, who is back in the lineup after last competing as an alternate for the Beach at the Big West Championship a year ago.
