Long Beach State returns to the Coeur d’Alene Resort to start the season.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will start off this coming Sunday, taking part in the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational over the course of three days, the first of 10 tournaments the Beach is scheduled to participate in this season.

Hosted by Gonzaga, Long Beach State will return to the Coeur d'Alene Resort to compete for the second straight season in one of the bigger kickoff events of the year with 19 teams taking part in this year's event. Last season saw the Beach finish in the Top 10, and as a team the squad posted their lowest round of the year of 283, under par as a group.

They were led in that event by Hannah Ko, and the veteran headlines the lineup going into the year. A second-team All-Big West selection a year ago, Ko led the team in four of the seven events she completed, and was Long Beach State's most consistent golfer.

She'll be joined by a wave of fresh talent in the lineup however. Twin sisters Jasmine Leovao and Janae Leovao will make their freshman debuts for the Beach, with Jasmine taking the second spot in the lineup and Janae in the fourth. The duo has impressed in junior golf, and will be looking to make a splash in the opening weekend.

Also earning a spot in the lineup as a true freshman is Madison Le. Coming out of Fountain Valley High School, Le was a four-time Sunset League Player of the Year and will look to translate her high school success to Division I.

Finally, Chloe Carraway will return to action to round out the lineup. The junior battled through injury through the spring, but was the second-place finisher among LBSU golfers in each of the team's four fall tournaments a year ago, including at Coeur d'Alene while she shot a 1-under par 70 in the final round.

Long Beach State will face plenty of familiar faces in the field, as Cal State Fullerton, Hawai'i and UC Riverside are joining the Beach out of the Big West. Along with the hosts, Gonzaga, and the Big West contingent, the rest of the field includes Cincinnati, Florida International, Georgetown, Grand Canyon, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah and Wyoming.

One round will be played each day across September 18-20, with live scoring provided by Golfstat at https://results.golfstat.com//public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=participants&tid=26459.
