17 Women’s Water Polo Student-Athletes Recognized With ACWPC All-Academic Awards

Long Beach State had seven student-athletes recognized as “Outstanding”; the highest tier of the award structure from the coaches’ organization.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – 17 Student-Athletes from Long Beach State Women's Water Polo have been recognized for their work in the classroom by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, earning All-Academic awards from the coaching organization for the Spring of 2022.
Awarded by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC), the awards have three tiers, with "Outstanding" given to student-athletes with a GPA over 3.71, "Superior" to student-athletes with GPAs between 3.41 and 3.70, and "Excellent" to student-athletes with a GPA between 3.20 and 3.40.
Led by Big West Scholar-Athlete of the Year Lena Kotanchyan, the Beach had seven student-athletes recognized at the Outstanding level. In addition to Kotanchyan, Kenddall Wilson also maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA, and the duo was joined by Mia Puentes, Sara Walsh, Inbar Geva, Sierra May, and Gabi Matafora-Adams.
Superior awards were presented to Katie Dill, Pam Solano, Mariah Walker, Jamie Oberman, Aliki Patra, Orsi Hertzka and Anne De Kleer while Amanda Price, Nadja Novakovic and Marilia Mimides all received Excellent honors.
