The All-American led Hawai’i in total points last season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Head Coach Shana Welch and the Women's Water Polo staff announced that Lara Luka has agreed to transfer to Long Beach State and will compete for the Beach in the upcoming 2023 season.
Luka was an Honorable Mention All-America selection as a sophomore after scoring 37 goals with 17 assists over the course of the 2022 season with Hawai'i.
"We are very happy and excited to welcome Lara to our Beach family," said Welch "She supports the vision of this program and will help to build on our team's current success. I've had the opportunity to follow her career and believe she is one of the most well-rounded players in the college game. Her impact on our team will be immediate as she brings a lot of experience and a history of success in the pool."
Luka was a second-team All-Big West selection last season, leading Hawai'i in points as the Rainbow Wahine captured the Big West Tournament regular season championship and went unbeaten in league play. Previously, she earned All-Freshman Team honors after scoring 17 goals with 12 assists as a freshman in 2021.
