Triple Jump Results

The San Bruno native improved on all three of his attempts starting at 15.02m (49-3.5) in his first jump of the day before launching himself six inches further on his second go. In his third and final attempt, he improved his mark by over two feet to 15.91m (52-2.5) bumping him up seven spots in the standings.

Entering the event, he ranked 20th among the championship contestants before ultimately moving up seven spots by the end of the day.

His 13th place finish and 52 feet, 2.5 inch mark are both bests by a Beach athlete in men's Triple Jump since the 2006 season.

Smith finishes his Long Beach State career as one of the most decorated athletes in program history earning seven total All-America honors, two Big West Field Athlete of the Year honors, two Big West Athlete of the Meet awards, and much more. He also leaves the Beach as the school record holder in both indoor and outdoor Long Jump while ranking top ten for the indoor and outdoor High Jump and Triple Jump as well.
