ABOUT LAST WEEK
• The Dirtbags suffered another 0-4 week with a midweek loss to Fresno State at home and swept by No. 13 UC Santa Barbara over the weekend. The Dirtbags have lost nine straight games and five consecutive series.
• Against Fresno State, the Dirtbags attempted a late-game rally but ultimately couldn't overcome the four-run deficit. Eddie Saldivar went 3-for-4 game with a triple and run scored. The pitching trio of Jake Rons, Noah Carabajal, and Jonathon Carlos combined for 5.2 scoreless out of the bullpen.
• In game one against the Gauchos, Luis Ramirez was tagged for eight runs and the Dirtbags lost 14-2. Chase Luttrell launched his seventh homer of the season as one of just two hits for the Dirtbags.
• The Dirtbags trailed early in game two as well, but rallied to tie the game up in the seventh inning. Unfortunately, UCSB would get an unearned run in the bottom half of the seventh to reclaim, and hang onto, a 3-2 lead.
• Game three was more of the same as the opener with the Gauchos scored five runs early and ended up taking a 10-0 lead into the ninth. The Dirtbags avoided the shutout with an unearned run in the ninth, but fell 10-1.
