Long Beach State suffered a 10-1 loss on Sunday leading to a sweep by the Gauchos.
After a scoreless first inning, the Gauchos broke the game open with a five run second inning. They went on to score two more in the third, two in the fifth, and their tenth run in the sixth.
Offensively, the DIrtbags had their chances with multiple runners on base five different times. Unfortunately, they could never get the big hit they needed to drive the runs in and left a total of 12 runners on base.
Long Beach State managed to plate a run in the top of the ninth to avoid the shutout, but left the bases loaded as a flyout ended the ballgame for a 10-1 loss.
Javier Rosales reached twice including a double, the first extra-base hit for him this season. Peyton Schulze also reached base twice with a single and a walk. Sebastian Murillo reached three times with a single and two walks.
The Dirtbags will begin a nine-game home stretch on Tuesday with San Diego State.
