No. 12 Long Beach State Set for Final Week of the Regular Season

The Beach will play four duals in their last week before the conference championships.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 12 Long Beach State will play their final week of the regular season with a pair of duals at Loyola Marymount before hosting four duals and celebrating Senior Day on Saturday.
 
The Beach will be at No. 4 Loyola Marymount on Friday for a matchup with Cal State Los Angeles at 12:00 p.m. before facing the host Lions at 2:00 p.m. They will then turn around and faceoff with CSUN (9:00 a.m.) and CSU Bakersfield (1:30 p.m.) at the LBSU Sand Courts on Saturday.
 
Saturday is also senior day where the Beach will host a senior ceremony prior to facing off with the 'Runners. There will also be two neutral matches at the LBSU Sand Courts on Saturday as both CSUN and CSU Bakersfield will play Cal State Los Angeles.

ABOUT THE BEACH
  • Long Beach State sits at No. 12 in the AVCA Beach Volleyball polls.
  • The Beach is 15-12 overall this season with four wins over ranked opponents and have won 11 of their last 14 duals.
  • Last week the team competed at the Arizona Invitational, playing four duals in two days. The trip consisted of wins over Stephen F. Austin and Southern Miss before suffering losses to No. 17 Arizona and No. 7 Grand Canyon.
  • The duo of Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi led the way and was named the Big West Pair of the Week for the second time of their careers. The pair went 2-1 over the weekend with both of their wins coming in the first flight against Arizona and GCU.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
  • Cal State LA enters the week at 3-8 primarily in Division II matches. The Beach is 3-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles with all three victories coming as 5-0 sweeps.
  • Loyola Marymount is ranked No. 4 in the nation with a 25-5 overall record. The Lions won the first matchup against LBSU this season, 3-2, and have won the last four matchups. Overall, the Beach leads the all-time series 16-4.
  • CSUN is 15-14 heading into the final week of the regular season coming off a loss to Pepperdine. Long Beach State has won all 16 meetings with the Matadors including a dual earlier this season at the Big West Challenge.
  • CSU Bakersfield is 10-14 this season after going 1-3 at the Arizona Invitational last weekend. The Beach is a perfect 15-0 all-time against the 'Runners.
