Long Beach State Set To Start Big West Tournament Play

No. 3 Beach will take on No. 6 UC Santa Barbara.
Honolulu, Hawai'i — Long Beach State starts its quest for the Big West Tournament title on Thursday when the No. 3-Seed Beach takes on No. 6-seed UC Santa Barbara at 1:30 p.m. at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
After defeating Cal State Northridge 17-9 last week, the Beach earned the tiebreaker against UC Davis and UC San Diego after the three teams finished conference play with a 3-3 record.
In the contest, senior Marilia Mimides scored a career-best six goals to push LBSU to the victory.
The Beach has defeated UCSB in both meeting this season and defeated the Gauchos 14-9 in their most recent meeting.
