Germann, Pratesi Named Big West Pair of the Week

This is the first time this season, a Long Beach State duo has garnered weekly honors.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – For the first time this season, Long Beach State had a pair named Big West Pair of the Week as Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi garnered the award this week.
The sophomore/redshirt sophomore pair went 2-1 at the Arizona Invitational this past weekend, playing all three duals in the first flight.
Their two wins came against Top 20 programs as they swept No. 17 Arizona's top pair in straight sets, 21-18 and 21-12 for the Beach's first point of the match and followed that with a three-set victory over the first flight of No. 7 Grand Canyon. After falling in extra points in the first set, Germann and Pratesi bounced back for wins in the second and third sets to win the dual.
This marks the second time that they have received the conference weekly honor after earning it on March 8 of last season.
The duo leads the Beach in wins as a pair, sporting a 14-10 record this season with 13 of those wins coming in the first flight.
