LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 11 Long Beach State Beach Volleyball will hit the road for their first plane trip of the season, taking part in the Stanford Invitational over two days on March 13 and 14.
Long Beach State (7-3) will head north for four matches hosted by Stanford. The Beach will play back-to-back ranked opponents on Friday, March 13, starting with No. 16 North Florida (9-3) at 1 p.m., before a rematch with No. 18 Washington (6-6) at 2 p.m.
The Beach opened the season with a 3-2 win over the Huskies in Malibu. On Saturday, the Beach will face Houston Christian (1-10) for the first time ever at 9 a.m., and then finish the tournament against the hosts, No. 2 Stanford (12-2).
Last week, Long Beach State hosted their first tournament of the season, going 3-1 with wins coming against UAB, Stetson, and Santa Clara. All four matches will have live scoring provided through StatBroadcast at beachlivestats.statbroadcast.com. The Beach will then return home to host the Big West Challenge in Long Beach March 20-22 as all seven programs in the Big West will face each other in their regular season competition.
