Women’s Golf Climbs One Spot In Final Round At Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

Long Beach State had their best round of the tournament as a team on Tuesday.
EWA BEACH, Hawaii – Sophomore Hannah Ko shot a two-over par 74 to finish in the Top 20 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, the second tournament of the spring season for Long Beach State.
The Beach as a team climbed into a tie with Nevada for seventh place in the tournament, paced by their best round of the three as all five golfers shot 77 or better on the day.
Ko improved her position from Monday with the 74, moving up into a tie for 16th overall after finishing the tournament 10-over par. Sophomore Angelina Kim shot a 75 on Tuesday, finishing one stroke behind Ko on the day and for the tournament in a tie for 20th place.
Hunter Pate, Vanessa Richani and Kristina Ponomareva started the day tied with each other and finished the day that way as well, as all three shot a five-over par 77 on the final round at Hoakalei Country Club.
Long Beach State will take a one week break, and then return to action starting on March 21, participating in the Fresno State Classic at Belmont Country Club.
