It was all Bison through the first four innings as their offense tagged Juaron Watts-Brown for four runs in 2.2 innings. The redshirt freshman had command issues, surrendering four walks and five hits in the shortened outing.
North Dakota State added another run in the fifth to make it a 5-0 ballgame before the Dirtbag offense ended the shutout in the bottom half. After a two-out single from Rocco Peppi, Eddie Saldivar found the left-center gap to drive in the first LBSU run of the afternoon. Two batters later, Chris Jimenez blooped one down the right field line for a double of his own and driving in two more runs making it a 5-3 game.

Jake Rons was huge out of the bullpen for Long Beach State. Taking over in the top of the fifth, the right-hander totaled 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.

The junior handed the ball off to All-American Devereaux Harrison in the eighth and after working around a pair of two-out baserunners, the scene was set for the Dirtbag offense.
The inning would start with a two-base error for Chris Jimenez before coming in to score on a Sebastian Murillo single through the right side. The Dirtbags would tie the game on another NDSU error off the bat of Chase Luttrell. Peppi, Saldivar, and Jonathon Long followed up with three consecutive RBI singles putting the Dirtbags up 8-5 heading into the final inning.
Harrison came back out for the ninth and shutdown the Bison offense to secure the series victory and give the Dirtbags their second straight victory.

Murillo led the offense today, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. Peppi has caught some fire at the plate as well with two more hits today giving him three consecutive multi-hit efforts this weekend. He also drove in a run and scored two more.
Long Beach State has a quick turnaround as they welcome Pepperdine to Bohl Diamond at Blair Field on Tuesday for a midweek matchup with the Waves. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
