
LBSU Starts Busy Weekend, Competes on Day One at West Coast Relays

The Beach trio of Ryan Coy, Keeley Rasmussen, and Malia Talavou all competed in the Hammer Throw on Thursday afternoon.
FRESNO, Calif. - Long Beach State started their busy, split weekend at the West Coast Relays on Thursday afternoon. Ryan Coy, Keeley Rasmussen, and Malia Talavou got competition started in the Hammer Throw.
Rasmussen posted the best mark of the three, launching the hammer 50.59m, not far off from her lifetime-best. Talavou's best throw in the first flight went 40.60m.
On the men's side, Coy posted a mark of 49.25m to finish just outside the top ten in the event.
All three throwers will compete again tomorrow along with the rest of the Beach track and field team.
Action in Fresno will begin on the track at 10:00 a.m. while competition in Oregon will start with the field events at 3:00 p.m.
