Long Beach State Beach Volleyball Heads to Northern California for Six Duals

The Beach will play two matches each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a terrific 5-1 weekend at the Big West Challenge, No. 16 Long Beach State will head to Northern California for six duals in three days. They will play Saint Mary's and San Jose State on Thursday, UC Davis and No. 13 Cal on Friday, and close out the trip with Santa Clara and No. 8 Stanford on Saturday.
Thursday's duals will be back-to-back beginning at 12:00 p.m. in San Jose, Calif. Friday will start at 11:30 a.m. in Berkeley, Calif. The final day of action will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in Stanford, Calif.

ABOUT THE BEACH
- Long Beach State now sits at No. 16 in the AVCA Beach Volleyball polls.
- The Beach is 7-9 overall and with three wins over Top 20 programs.
- Last week, the team hosted the Big West Challenge at Rosie's Dog Beach and posted a 5-1 record over their conference opponents. They had three sweeps, including a sweep of then No. 12 Cal Poly. They also swept Sacramento State and CSUN with a pair of 4-1 wins over UC Davis and CSU Bakersfield.
- The duo of Katie Kennedy and Sydney Stevens led the way with a perfect 4-0 mark with flight wins over both No. 12 Cal Poly and No. 9 Hawai'i. Overall, the Beach is 44-36 (.550) in their flights this season.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
- Long Beach State will play matches at three different Nor-Cal schools this week. Their Thursday duals will be at San Jose State, Friday at Cal, and Saturday at Stanford.
- Saint Mary's enters the week with a 13-7 overall record and fresh off a 2-2 effort this past weekend. The Beach is 5-0 all-time against the Gaels with their last meeting happening in 2019.
- San Jose State is 9-11 on the year, but are coming off a 3-1 weekend. This will be the first match against the Spartans in program history.
- UC Davis is 9-10 this season after going 4-2 at the Big West Challenge. Long Beach State beat the Aggies 4-1 at Rosie's Dog Beach and are now 5-0 all-time.
- California is ranked as the No. 13 team in the nation with a 16-6 overall record. The Golden Bears defeated the Beach, 3-2, on the second weekend of the season as the two teams are matched with a 2-2 record all-time.
- Santa Clara is 6-11 with losses in their last three matches. In their only meeting back in 2020, the Beach beat the Broncos 4-1 at the LBSU Sand Courts.
- The toughest opponent of the weekend, No. 8 Stanford, enters the week with an 11-5 record. The Cardinal and Beach have already faced each other once this season with Stanford taking it, 3-2. However, LBSU owns the all-time record 4-2.
