The Beach is striving to continue to stay unbeaten in Big West play while also playing two additional matches during their trip to Hawaii.
LONG BEACH, CALIF. - The Long Beach State women's tennis team is coming off a tremendous win last week after sweeping UC San Diego, 7-0. The Beach will compete against Hawaii Pacific, Hawai'i, and Army over the course of the weekend with an important conference match against Hawai'i (2-3-3, 2-0 Big West) on Saturday.
Hawaii Pacific, a good Division II program, currently has a record of 5-1, while Army has a 13-4 record going into Monday's match. The young Long Beach State (3-3, 3-0 Big West) team has won two straight league matches without dropping a set, and will hope to keep that momentum going during a busy trip to the islands.
"The team is improving and we are looking forward to our first three-match weekend," said Hilt-Costello.
The matches will begin Friday with the Beach competing against Hawaii Pacific at 10 a.m. PT, followed by Hawai'i on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT, and lastly will play against Army on Monday at 10 a.m PT. All matches will be played at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex.
