Vernoy Qualifies for NCAA Indoor Championships

Senior Charlie Vernoy has qualified for the NCAA Championships in College Station, Tex.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Charlie Vernoy will be heading to the NCAA Indoor Championships next week to compete in the men's weight throw.
The Ventura native has had a remarkable 2022 indoor season winning all but one Weight Throw event, he competed in this year. Most recently, he came out victorious at the BYU Invitational II where he set a new lifetime-best in the event.
His mark of 21.93m (71'11.5") in Provo, Utah ranks 14th best in the country and second in Long Beach State program history. The throw also ranks first among all California Division I athletes this season.
The NCAA Indoor Championships feature the top 16 marks in the country to compete for the event championship. This year's championships will be hosted by the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala. on March 11-12.
