ABOUT THE BEACH
- Long Beach State begins the season ranked No. 14 in the CBVB preseason poll and No. 15 in the AVCA preseason poll. They rank the third highest among the Big West schools.
- The Beach returns eight of their starting ten from last year's conference championships, including All-Big West First Team selections Mari Molina, Skyler Germann, Katie Kennedy, and Nicci Reinking.
- The team also welcomes in four new recruits that are expected to make an impact in their first year with the program.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
- USC is the reigning national champions and enters the weekend as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country. Last year, the Beach fell in both duals against the Trojans and are 5-10 all-time against USC.
- Irvine Valley College is an NAIA school, so the result will not go toward the LBSU record. The Beach is 9-0 against the Lasers all-time.
- Cal begins the season as the No. 11 team in the country continuing a streak of top 12 appearances since April of 2018. The Beach and Golden Bears have only faced each other three times in history with LBSU leading it 2-1.
