Beach Volleyball Ranked No. 15 in AVCA Preseason Poll

The Beach will open the season as the number 15 team in the country by the AVCA Preseason Poll.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Beach Volleyball was ranked No. 15 in the American Coaches Volleyball Association Preseason Poll. The poll was announced this week.

Just days after the CBVB Preseason poll ranked the Beach as the No. 14 team in the country, they receive their second top 15 team ranking by the AVCA.

LBSU returns eight of their starting ten at the conference championships last year and welcomes in four new faces for the 2022 season. Among the returners are All-Big West First Team recipients Mari Molina, Skyler Germann, Katie Kennedy, and Nicci Reinking.

The Beach will open the season on Thursday, Feb. 24 against the defending national champions as top-ranked USC comes to Long Beach for a match at the LBSU Sand Courts. First serve as scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
