Women’s Tennis Falls On The Road At San Diego State

#48 Zara Lennon and Sheena Masuda continued their strong play with a top flight win in doubles.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Long Beach State lost Friday in the first of two matches on the road in San Diego, falling 4-0 at San Diego State.
#48 Sheena Masuda and Zara Lennon got Long Beach State (1-2, 1-0 Big West) off to a strong start, earning a quick win over Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Tamara Arnold, 6-1 in the top flight. Unfortunately, the doubles point went to San Diego State (4-1) as the Aztecs took the other matches 6-3 and 6-4 respectively.
San Diego State finished off the win by closing out three singles matches at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 in straight sets.
"It was a tough loss today," stated head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello. "We know we can play better and will work towards that tomorrow."
