Long Beach State Picks Up Another Road Win At San Jose State

Andrej Bosanac recorded nine saves to pass 500 saves in his career for the Beach.
SAN JOSE, Calif. – After a tight first half, Long Beach State pulled away in the second on the raod at No. 14 San Jose State as the Beach improved to 18-8 on the year with a 13-10 win on Saturday.
San Jose State (10-13, 0-4 GCC) struck first, taking an early 1-0 lead as the teams would go back and forth early. Long Beach State (18-8, 3-1 GCC) pulled in front 2-1 with a goal from Evan Cain, but the teams stood even at 3-3 after the first eight minutes.
A late goal from Nikola Nikolic put the Spartans in front by one at halftime, on top 6-5 setting the stage for the Beach to come back in the second half.
Bruno Chiappini scored the first of his three goals to quickly even the score in the opening seconds of the third quarter. The Beach took control by scoring four more unanswered, with Cain, Rafael Real Vergara, Connor Mannion finding the net and Chiappini bookending the run with another goal to take a 10-6 lead with seconds remaining the third quarter.
In command, Long Beach State would push out to a 13-9 lead on Vergara's fourth goal of the game, and one final goal from Nikolic set up the final of 13-10 on the day as the Beach claimed their second straight road conference win.
Andrej Bosanac made nine saves for Long Beach State while collecting the win, finishing the day with 505 saves, becoming the eighth keeper in school history to record 500 saves.
Long Beach State remains on the road next week, closing out the regular season with a non-conference road game at No. 12 Loyola Marymount on Thursday, before the GCC finale at No. 11 UC Irvine on Saturday.
