The Beach will play at Loyola Marymount on Thursday before facing their final GCC opponent in UC Irvine on Saturday.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 7 Men's Water Polo will play two more road games to close out the 2022 regular season, playing Thursday at No. 12 Loyola Marymount before closing the league season on the road at No. 11 UC Irvine on Saturday at Noon.

Long Beach State (18-8, 3-1 GCC) is coming off of two straight wins, after dominating No. 9 Pepperdine on the road 17-10 and winning at No. 14 San Jose State to keep pace in the GCC standings. Loyola Marymount enters the week with an overall record of 15-7, with key wins against Pepperdine and UC San Diego earlier in the season.

The Beach then closes out Golden Coast Conference play at UC Irvine. The Anteaters are 2-2 in GCC action and have a record of 14-10 overall. UCI is riding some momentum of their own, having won two straight with wins over Westcliff and Pepperdine. Live streaming will be provided for the contest through Youtube, and live stats for both games will be provided and available at http://www.thefosh.net.

Rafael Real Vergara continues to lead both Long Beach State and the Golden Coast Conference with 62 goals now on the year, and now ranks fifth all-time in goals scored at Long Beach State. Meanwhile both Garrett Zaan and Matt Morris have entered the Top 20 in goals scored, with Zaan six goals away from becoming the 14th player to tally 150 goals in his career.

Following the two contests, Long Beach State will take part in the Golden Coast Conference Tournament next week, hosted by UC Santa Barbara prior to the NCAA Tournament field announcement.
