Women’s Golf Sets New Program Record With 6-Under 282 In Round Two

The Beach had three players under par Tuesday and moved into second place in the 17-team field.
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Long Beach State set a new school record with a team score of 282, 6-under par as the team finished with the best round of the day during Round Two of The Clash At Boulder Creek, moving up to second place after a great day in Nevada.
Long Beach State had three golfers under par, climbing to even par for the tournament and taking sole possession of second place.
Freshman Janae Leovao eagled the Par 5 on 16, and added four birdies to card a 68 on Monday, moving into the Top 5 in the individual leaderboard at 2-under par. Sophomore Kristina Ponomareva birdied three out of her final five holes to finish 2-under par, moving into a tie for 14th overall along with Jasmine Leovao, who shot a 71 on Monday.
Hannah Ko was one over par at 73 and is also in the Top 20 in the 100 golfer field while Angelina Kim was one stroke back of Ko on Monday with a 74, and is also in the top half of the field, tied for 36th overall.
