Beach Water Polo Is Back on Sunday

LBSU hosts the Beach Invite that will include games against Pomona-Pitzer and Whittier.
Long Beach, Calif. — Long Beach State will start the season on Sunday when the Beach hosts the Beach Invite at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.
The Beach will host Whittier, La Verne, Biola and Pomona-Pitzer with five games being played throughout the day.
The Beach will start the day when LBSU takes on Pomona-Pitzer at 9 a.m., LBSU will wrap up its day when they take on Whittier at 12:45 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now and one ticket can be used for admission for the entire day. As a reminder, Long Beach State has a clear bag policy for all athletic events.
For those unable to attend, all games will be on FOSH.
WELCOME BACK
After 2021's shortened season, the Beach welcomes back Orsi Hertzka and Marilia Mimides. Hertzka scored a combined 119 goals her last two season, while Mimides scored 45 in 2019, her last season with LBSU.
FIRE POWER
With the return of Hertzka and Mimides the Beach will have a fearsome trio that will include Lena Kotanchyan, who earned All-American Honorable Mention honors last season and led the Beach in goals.
