Women’s Golf In Top 10 After First Day Of Couer d’Alene Resort Invitational

Hannah Ko leads Long Beach State in her return to action.
COUER D'ALENE, Idaho – Long Beach State Women's Golf returned to action in the first tournament under new head coach Alyssa Waite, participating in the first of three days at the Couer d'Alene Resort Invitational hosted by Gonzaga.
Sophomore Hannah Ko was impressive after a long layoff. The former All-Big West selection competed in her first collegiate action since March of 2020. She had an early birdie and finished the day with a two-over par 73, closing the day in a tie for 12th overall to lead the way for the Beach.
Another returning all-conference honoree in sophomore Angelina Kim was second on the team on the day. Three birdies on her back nine helped Kim card a 76 on the day, tied for 34th overall in the field.
Sophomore Chloe Carraway and Vanessa Richani rounded out the counting scored for the Beach one stroke higher with a pair of 77s, while Hunter Pate closed out the first day with an 80.
As a team, Long Beach State closed out the day with a total score of 303, tied for 10th overall in the 17 team field with San Francisco, and one stroke off of a three-way tie for seventh place between Florida International and Creighton.
