The Beach offense dominated, outshooting FCGS 30 shots to 11.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State women's soccer opened up their fall season with a 3-1 victory over FC Golden State on Monday. The Beach totaled 30 shots on the night, forcing nine saves from the FCGS goalkeeper.

Lena Silano did not waste much time putting LBSU on the board, finding the back of the net in the 18th minute. After her shot from the top of the box was saved, the rebound came right back to her in the box where she finished with the left for the first goal in front of fans in over 18 months.

FC Golden State answered in the 34tha minute as Meranda Salazar connected on a shot to the near post to even the score at one goal each.

At the half, the Beach found themselves outshooting FCGS 18 to four while racking up five goals to none.

As the game entered the 58tha minute, Kayla Cannon found herself about 20 yards above the box with room to dribble before launching it to the far post and into the back of the net as Long Beach State reclaimed the lead.
Hoping for some insurance, Aleea Caceres forced a turnover on the FCGS side placing a beautiful just outside the box for Nadiyah Siqueiros. The senior then centered up perfect for Silano to chip in her second goal of the night.

Katarina Decaroli started the second half in goal for the Beach and put on a show making a pair of tremendous saves maintaining the Beach lead.

On the other side, Long Beach State alum Ashley Seymour played all 90 minutes in net for FC Golden State and totaled nine saves on the night.

The Beach will have one more pre-season warmup as they take on Loyola Marymount on Thursday night. Kickoff from George Allen Field is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
